Very good morning everybody,

Welcome to the Art With Heart Team Blog Hop! Who are the Art with Heart team? Lead by Claire Daly there are over 80 demonstrators across Australia ... if you want to be come part of this great team just email me for more details. We have a great team forum, Business Building Club and heaps of support from like minded demonstrators.

This will be a monthly event happening on the last day of every month. You may have just come from Ros Davidson's blog, but if you are starting here, don’t worry … you can make the complete journey just by following the links at the end of each post. There are 12 stops along the way and we hope you will visit each one to see the wonderful creations we have to show you! If you leave a comment on each and every blog and then email Nikki at nikki@inkyart.com.au, your name will be put into the hat to win some beautiful blog candy. There is a deadline of 72 hours to leave your comments and only non SU demos are eligible to win the candy - although we'd love all visitors to leave some comments please.

So for our first tour we decided upon the theme of Valentines. At the end of each post there will be a link to take you to the next stop on the tour. It would be fantastic if you could leave a comment on each blog! So grab a cuppa, and set off on what we are hoping will be an inspirational journey!

Here is my Valentine's project. Its a card and a bucket basket full of chocolates!

I have used I {Heart} Hearts stamp set's little heart stamp, white craft ink and stamp-a-magic to create the background on the kraft paper. Here is the closeup of the bucket basket.

I also used the 3 heart punch to punch out hearts and used dazzling diamond on them for the basket.
I also punched out 2 sets of 3 heart shapes on glossy cardstock and layered various ribbon pieces at the back. Here is the closeup of the card.

Other products used on my projects are Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Scalloped border punch, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose,Pink Passion, Real Red cardstock, Sweet little sentiment stamp set, scalloped circle punch, circle punch and white gel pen. All from Stampin' Up!

Lemon, Grey, Green and White

I love this combination. Subtle and pleasing to the eyes. I have seen so many jumpers (that how sweaters are called in Australia) in this color combination. Infact, there is one in the summer sale catalogue of Ezibuy online store. So its going to be in my closet very soon. lol!
Anyway, I made a card using this color combination. I love this card and its going to stay with me forever.

There is lots of glitter on the image. maybe you can see it better on this picture below.

Yes, this picture shows the glitter better.
I have used Barely Banana, Basic Gray and White White card stocks from Stampin' Up!
Kindered Spirits and Upsy Daisy stamp sets also from Stampin' Up!
Kiwi Kiss and staz on inks also from Stampin' Up!
Playground button, dazzling diamonds, linen thread and two way glue pen from Stampin' Up!
The border punch is from Martha Stewart.

Isn't the combination beautiful. I love it.I also like Bashful Blue, Basic Gray and Whisper White. Will give this color combination a go next week. I am going to Perth this weekend to watch Australia vs Pakistan one day cricket match on Sunday. And I also have a dental appointment on Monday. I am a bit worried about my dental thingy. I am having a root canal thingy done and a cap put on top as well. I may not be able to talk and eat properly for a day or two.... My mouth will be swollen and my face will look odd for couple of day! Oh! NOOOOO!

On sunday the 31st of January, "Art with Heart Team" is having a blog hop. Its the Stampin' Up! team under Claire Daly. The theme is Valentine's. I have scheduled my post to appear on Sunday at 6.00am. There is a blog candy too. So tune into my blog and then hop on for awesome inspirations.

Have a great weekend

Some organisation tips

Here is how I organised yesterday's card along with the recipe and the inspirational photo.First I printed off the recipe and inspirational photo of the challenge. I then printed out a mini file folder to put the card, the recipe and the photo in it. Then made a magazine holder to put the file folder in.I did not decorate or label the magazine holder yet!  Here are the pictures.

I will keep adding lots of  file folders with challenges and the cards I made for the challenges in the magazine holder.I think each magazine holder will hold three to four file folder. I will have to just label the magazine holder and thats it. Ok, I have some work to do. I will be having guests at home for dinner. I have to make some preparations for having guests at home. My husband has set up a screen and projector in the undercover area to play Wii in the evening with the guests. So its going to be a fun evening! Kids are excited and driving me crazy! I have to go now!

Have a great day. See you soon.

Compose a Card Challenge

Hi everybody,

In my previous post, I participated in my first blog hop and first PTI blog hop. I was excited and hopped some 25 to 30 blogs and wow!, there were many many awesome cards and envelopes. I have taken note of some great color combination, some nice sketches and many tips. It was great fun. And for the first time I received 50 comments. I am blown away (tears in my eyes)! Thanks to each and everyone of you who left me sweet and encouraging words as comments. They are very valuable for me and motivate me to do more. Thanks everybody, once again!

Today I have a card I made for Compose a Card Challenge at Becky Oehlers blog. She has all the measurements, ribbon, punch and colors for the card. You could use any stamps or ink and sketch you want with the measured pieces of cardstock in the recipe. There is also a photo for inspiration. I thought it is a cool challenge. Here is how her challenge looks like!

I love this curtain. The parsley design and color is awesome. I had a parsley stamp set but could not find it! Since I moved house, I have not yet got used to whats where! I will go through my storage again and if I find the parsely set, I will make another card. But here is what I made

I loved the sketch of the card.  I will definitely print the measurements and keep it with the card. I have a mini file folder templatewhich I am going to use to put the card and the measurement print out. I will probably show you in my next post how I am going to organise these cards. Great way to have a collection. Thanks for a great challenge, Becky!

Papertrey Blog Hop

Hi everybody,

This is my first time I have participated in the PTI blog hop.I made the cards and envelope as soon as I saw the advert for the blog hop. I live in Australia so I also worked out the time difference between American EST and Australian WST. Its about 13 hours difference. I think I am correct about it. I checked with the "TheWorldClock.com" website. I then scheduled the post so that I don't forget.
Here are my pictures of the set of 2 cards and coordinating envelopes I made for the blog hop.

The above picture shows inside of one card and the outside of the other card.

Here are the two cards with the coordinating envelopes

Above is the closeups of the envelopes. Below are some more closeups of the cards.

I made this scalloped circle scrunched flower using Dawn Mcvey's tutorial. Thanks Dawn!

I loved the tip Nicole gave for using double sided sticky tape for glitter. I have used the tip on my card (see the picture above). Thanks Nicole!

Here is the entire set. 2 cards, the interior of the cards done up and also the envelopes. All products used to make this project are from PTI except the envelopes, twine thread and pearls.
Thanks for the opportunity. I throughly enjoyed making them.
Have a great day!

Second post for today.

So here are the cards I made with "Good Neighbours" stamp set from the Sale-a-bration catalogue. This is a very cute set. Love it.

These cards are also my take for Clean and Simple challenge at SCS. The challenge is to use DSP on a clean and simple card.I have stamped the houses and clouds on DSP from SU!. I love the individual houses, roofs and small trees and how they are versatile. The houses and roofs can be used in different combinations along with the trees. Isn't the clouds very cute. My favourite stamp set. There are three more sets available for free if you order SU products for $100 or more. No limit. if you order for $400, you get all the four sets free. On the top of this you get to choose one level one hostess stamp set too. Isn't that awesome? Email me your list to receive your free stamp set!

OK, have  a great evening. I am melting down. Its 7.30 PM here and the temperature is 35 degree C. I wish it would rain and cool down. Well  lets see! See you soon

Inkspiration Color Challenge #17

Hi everybody,

I was so glad to see Makeesha's Inkspiration color challenge on her blog. This is the first challenge for this year. Here are the colors for the challenge

Mmmmm!, these are colors I will use in different combinations. I like to use So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla together. Similarly, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Cameo Coral together. It was a challenge for me to use So Saffron and Cameo Coral together with Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. A lot of thought went into it. But then, I took out the cardstocks and laid it on the table and I felt it was not so bad as I had thought! So this is what I came up with. I am pretty happy with it.

The flowers I made using some old music sheets I had in my stash. I punch some scalloped circles out of them, inked the edges, adhered 6 layers (for one flower) using a brad, scrunched each layer except the last one. I then opened the layers and added a button in the centre. Dawn Mcvey has a tutorial on her blog. Aren't the flowers beautiful? I love them.
Petal Pizzaz was my first stamp set I bought with the starter kit. I haven't used them in a long time. Time had come to pull the set out and I used the leaf from the set for this card. The leaves are heat embossed with clear embossing powder on chocolate chip ink. Felt a bit weird stamping chocolate chip color leaves. But it looks nice on the card.Sentiment is from Sweet Little Sentiment hostess set.
Thanks for the color challenge. I enjoyed making this card.
Have a great weekend

Mini Tag album

Hi everybody,

How are you all doing? Last few weeks of school holidays and we all had enough of holidays. We (myself and my kids) want to go back into the routine. I want to get back to gym. Sitting at home most of the time is annoying. We went to see Alwin and the Chipmunks. Not impressive all. Toooo squeeky!!! I really want to get out of the theatre. Today was 45 degrees again. My eyes were burning. It became humid and later rained. Now its nice and cooled down a bit. I want the summer to finish quickly. Cannot take the heat. Compared to last year this year its 2 degrees too hot!

With this type of weather and being indoors, means only one thing. Make a project. So I made a mini file folder tag album.I started out with the file folder but I discovered that my file folder did not have any tabs. Mmmm! very weird huh! So I cut the file folder in half and then used one side of the file folder to make the album. Thus it became a mini file folder album.lol!
Here are the pictures.

Above is the front view of the album.

This is the back view of the album. I have used I {heart} Hearts stamps from Stampin' Up! and Bella Blue designer paper also from Stampin' Up!

This is the inside of the album. Four tags go into the pockets.

These are the four tags that go into the pockets. Aren't they pretty? I love how they turned out. Some dazzling diamonds on the heart shapes and on the tags just adds that awesome sparkle.
Some closeups of the tags

All products used are from Stampin' up! except the file folder, music paper and the buttons.I love shabby chic and vintage styles but very rarely I make projects suing such styles. Maybe I should make more of them. Hehehe! Anyway, thats all sharing I have for today. I want to drink some water and then watch Henin Vs Dementova tennis match. Oh! I love Tennis. At the moment, the Australian Open is in full swing. These two ladies are fighting each and every game. Beautiful match. I got to go. Its very interesting.
Will see you all soon. Have a great evening.

Double pocket card

Hi everybody,

Today, I did even plan to blog. But my daughter wanted to "make something"! She came over to my craft room and started to nag me. So we went through Splitcoaststampers  'try a new technique" thread and found couple of interestiing projects. There was a "Pixie Pouch" and a "Heart shaped pocket". I liked the heart shaped pocket and my daughter like the Pixie Pouch! Nothing new!!!! We always agree to disagree. She then came up with this idea of making both as one project. Thats it and she left. Why? My son was playing his DS. DS games are more interesting now than wanting to " make Something" Uh! I was left by myself to make it as one project. Here is what I ended up making after 2 hours at it.

These are the two cards that goes inside the pockets.

Close up the scalloped circle flower I made using Dawn Mcvey's tutorial.

I have used a combination of products to make this project. Basic Black cardstock, Naturals cardstock, tag punch and ribbon from Stampin' Up!, pattern paper from Basic Grey. I don't know which brand is the music paper. It was in my stash.  Button and stamps from Papertrey and Black Bling from Kaisercraft. I really love using varous things from my stash.
I liked the end result and as I am blogging now, my daughter comes back and is surprised that its all done!
What you already made it? (not knowing she has spent 2 hours playing DS with my son), She asks. Not fair! I did not get to do anything! Huh! But it is gorgeous mommy! Can I have it?
Mmmm! she always wants to have all of what I make. lol!  Not that she will do anything useful with it. But just that having it in her room and showing it off to her friends. Mmm!, No! She is not getting it! lol!!! I really like this one. I want it! hehehe!

Here is the link to the thread from Splitcoaststamper for making the heart shaped pocket card
and here is the link to making the Pixie Pouch.

Have fun making our own.

Fun with butterfly punch

Yesterday was a hot day. but today is better. So far its been nice outside. A day to go out. So I am outdoors today. Cycyling with my daughter and son. Shopping for school shoes on the agenda! And probably gardening too.
I had great fun yesterday with my butterfly punch. I made a card set and a set of 3 frames. My daughter helped me too. She wanted to "help" always but just that she cannot sit for more than 10 minutes doing some craft work. Since this was simple and butterlfy was the theme, she sat making all of them.
Here are the pictures

So cute isn't it? I have been seeing such frames and cards on the galleries, for a while now. I really really liked them a lot. I so wanted to make them myself. I have them now. These frames are great gifts for girls as room decor.I bought the frame set from Target on sale for $5

I have some challenges to do. But I will do them only tomorrow. Today off shopping for school shoes. Oh! I also remembered I need to cover all the exercise books for both the kids. Gosh that a big job to do!
See you for now. Have a great weekend!

Note cards

Morning everybody,
Today I wanted to share some note cards I made last night. I also made coordinating envelope and a bag to put them in. I am not happy with colors I have used to make the bag. I think I will have to make another bag later. But here are the pictures

I have used a combination of PTI, Stampin' Up! and Basic Grey products to make this set. Very easy and quick to make. There are plenty of templates available online to make a box for a 3 x 3 note cards and similarly the envelope too. Just Google! What will we do without Google! lol!
And there are also many templates available on Splitcoast stampers. My envelopes are from Melstampz.blogspot.com and box is from the splitcoast stampers. Thanks to Mel and the person who gave the box template. You are both very sweet.

The sale-a-bration at Stampin' Up! starts on 25th January. I am sorry I gave you wrong information in my previous post. The inventory sale is still on. So if you like to get some good deals on the Stampin' Up! stamp set then email me.
See you soon.
