ColourQ #117

I am so thrilled because my package from Wplus9 arrived today. And I have their gorgeous December Valentine's day stamp sets. They are just beautiful. I straight away opened the package and inked the stamp set and made this card.

Valentine's day card

Aren't the birdies cute? There are so many different size birdies in this set called Love Birds by Wplus9. Loving all their stamp sets and their coordinating dies.
And I used colourQ #117 challenge to make this card.

If you like to play the challenge, here is the link. I have a few more ideas in my head using this challenge. But I need the time to craft. Kids, puppy and cleaning is taking a lot of my time and I am getting exhausted and sleepy by the time I sit to craft. I have to organise myself and make time to craft :)
Anyway, we are going to see Tintin and Adventures tonight. My kids love Tintin comics and have all the books. They read them over and over and know most of them inside out. At times, Captain Haddock's phrases could be heard in their conversations lol! I am looking to see it in 3D:)

Thanks for stopping by. See you soon!

Love Framed!

Hey everybody,
Hope you all had a great festive time with family and friends. Lots of fun, laughter and food?
I don't celebrate Christmas but sure do enjoyed the festivity during this time. Today being the Boxing Day, there is a lot of sales going around the country except in my town. All shops are closed until tomorrow. Weird isn't it? But true. The town is deserted and nothing to do. Sad! Since it is a holiday, I expect people will get out wanting to shop and so the shops will be opened. But every shop in the town is shut. Not even Woolies and Coles!!!! I am disappointed :( I will be in the city next year this time. So something to look forward next Christmas and Boxing day.

Anyway, I wanted to share a frame I made for Valentine's day.

Valentine's day  frame

Very easy to make. All you need is heart punch which is from Stampin' Up!, red cardstock, a valentine sentiment and an ornate white frame. Simple and easy but makes a statement doesn't it? Love it :)
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

See you soon with more projects later.

Lawnscaping challenge #24 - Texture

Hey everybody,
This is my second post for the day.

I have a card to share, I made for Lawnscaping challenge #24. The challenge is to add texture. I dug out my Coredinations cardstock and embossed it through cuttlebug and sanded it to bring the inner pink colour out.

one for me card

And the flower I made using an organza bag. My hubby brought home his secret santa present inside an organza bag, which I decided to cut circles of different sizes, then burnt sealed the edges and then layered them. I made the center of the flower using pearls and rhinestones. This also adds to the texture.
The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn Clear to See stamp set.

This is my first time participating in lawnscaping challenge. Loved making this card especially the flower. Thanks for the challenge. If you like to play the challenge, then here is the link.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Holidays!

P.S: Here is my first post.

Frame time :)

It is time to share a frame I made. I recently bought a few $5 sets from Papertrey Ink and been waiting to use them. It is a hot day and being house bound, I decided to make a few frames. Here is one of them.
I CASed Nichole's Boy Basics-Frog Hop frog card.

Frog frame

I changed the sentiment and shaded the frog and leaf using copics instead of stamping on them.
Love the frogy. He is so cute.
Tomorrow I have a valentine's theme frame.
See you then :)

ric #2 Fendi Spring 2012

Wow! this one was a bit of a challenge for me to start with because there are so many elements in the picture that can be used as inspirations. The dress pattern, the stripes, the handbag, the spectacle, the colours, the model.... I guess I wanted them all in one card which is a lot ask, right?. The card will be a mess then. So, I had to pick three elements to use on my card. They are the handbag, the model and the stripes. Here is what I came up with :)

RIC #2

I really love the sillouette stamp from Hero Arts. By the way, this stamp set is one of the item I won for guessing the DT for Runaway Blog Challenge. They arrived last week and love them all. Thanks Jennifer and JayGee's Nook.

Get Inspired by Home Decor

I made this card for Moxie Fab World Get Inspired by Home Decor challenge a while ago and completely forgot about it. It was hidden under a pile of papers on my desk. I cleaned up today and found the card. Here is the card.

IMGP1980

I used the globe stamp from Masculine Motifs stamp set from Papertrey Ink for the background and as a focal point. I also wanted to make a masculine valentine's card. So I guess I got it, right?

I just checked Moxie Fab Blog and I still have time to enter it for the challenge. Finally the time difference between Australia and USA is of some use to me :) If you like to see more inspirations then here is the link to the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Monday :)

I stamped the peacock image using Versamark and SU's Basic Gray ink.  Then embossed the peacock image with clear embossing powder. Colored the feather blue and sponged SU's Bashful Blue around them. Finally adding  rhinestones. Isn't the peacock gorgeous. Love the Magical Moments stamp set from Wplus9.

ColourQ #115

Hey everybody, School Holidays has started and we are planning holiday activities and getting organised. A lot of movies, drives, swimming, library and household sorting and cleaning on the chart. Oh, I did not forget crafting. And crafting always comes first, rest later.lol!
So I did make couple of cards using ColourQ challenge #115.

Love the bright colours in the challenge. But I did struggle a bit using them, to be honest!  Then I received my order from Simon Says store. When new goodies come, I get all thrilled and movtivated looking at them. So I opened the Sizzix/Hero Arts stamp and die set and made this card below.

Love the stamp set and die from Hero Arts/Sizzix because I can stamp first and then diecut the stamped images. So easy and so much better than lining up the stamp on the tiny diecuts to stamp.Isn't the butterfly image beautiful? Love it.

Next card, I made using my old Rose is a Rose stamp set from SU. I love this set because of its two step stamping. That means the rose can be made using so many diffeent colour combinations. I have a few dearly loved SU stamp sets and this set is one of them.

I created an entire pattern paper using these stamps and it looked gorgeous. The sentiment stamp set and impression plate used on the red panel is from papertrey Ink. So is the cardstocks except the Green Galore strip. The pearls are from Kaisercraft.
Love both the cards for its vibrant colours. Hope you do too. If you like to play along then, here is the link to the challenge. I would like to thank the Colour Q team for choosing this card of mine as one of the courtiers. I am honoured.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Holidays.

MIM #45

Hey everybody,
One more day until holidays starts Yay! I watched PTI's MIM video today and made a card for Make It Monday #45.
This technique is very cool. Colouring using copics on embossed images:)
Here is the link to the video by Lisa Johnson.
And here is my take on the technique.

I used Four of a Kind stamp set from Papertrey Ink and embossed the image using white embossing powder. Then coloured with copics and also did some shading. The sentiment tag is a printable from Papertrey Ink released during the anniversay celebrations. Here is the link to the printable tags.

This is a very cool way of adding colour and texture to a card especially against the dark background. Thanks for sharing the technique, Lisa!

Thanks for stopping by!

CFC #31 - In the Mist

Hi everybody,
How is all the Christmas preparations going? All busy I guess! Me too :)
I have a card share today. I made this card using CAS-ual Friday challenge #31- In the mist.

Here is my take on the challenge.

What I did was to use Glimmer mist Green meadow for the background and the Glimmer Mist Pomegranate for the flowers. With the flowers I first sprayed the cardstock with pomegranate, let it dry, then diecut PTI's In Bloom flowers and finally stamped on it.Both the background and the flowers look shimmery. Here is a closeup of the flowers and the background.

How do you show the shimmer on a photo? I tried my best to take photos at an angle. The flash keeps coming on and colour washing the photos :( This is the best I could get on a raining day, Sorry!

Hope you like my card. I loove it especially the contrast colours and the shimmer. Thanks for the challenge. If you like to play along then here is the link to the challenge.

I would like to thank the CAS-ual Friday team for picking this card of mine as last week's one of the V.I.P.s. I am honoured and excited. Thanks for the badge as well. :)

Thanks for stopping by! See ya soon :)
