Summer card camp week 1 - Color combo

Morning everybody,

Today is my washing and cleaning day but its raining here. So no washing can be done today. Although I can still clean and vacuum, I decided to postone cleaning and make a card. I have signed up for Summer Card Camp by Jennifer and Kristina. Funny, its winter here for me and I have signed up for Summer Card Camp. Well, I am from down under :). Anyway, first week color combo is out and I decided to participate using the color combo. Here is combination for you.

And here is my card using the color combination :)

I opted to do a CAS card using these colors with lots of white space. Also I used Rock and Roll technique on the flowers. The large flower has pink and orange and small flowers have purple and pink. Hope you can see them. If not here is a close up photo.

I have used Papertrey Ink supplies all in all except for the inks which are from SU. Stamps sets are called  Background Basic Polka Dots I,  Daydreamer (new release) and sentiment from Commnique Sentiments also from Papertrey Ink. Here is another full photo of the card where the rock and roll technique on the flower is seen.

Hope you like the card. Very excited to have join the Card Camp. Registration closes June 29th here is the link for you. If you are in Australia and New Zealand, you still have a day left to register :)

P.S. I am also entering this card for Moxie Fab Stamp It challenge as my card fulfills the challenge requirements :)

Have a great day!

Tuesday Trigger - Lovely as a Lullaby!

Hello everybody,

What a beautiful day today! Not just because of the lovely sunshine but I had a good day. Work is good. Love it to bits. After work went with friend to see Bridesmaids and had lunch. Picked kids from school and back home now for dinner :)
I had made a card for Tuesday Trigger-Lovely as a Lullaby which I wanted to share with you. Here is the inspirational picture.

I was inspired by the polka dots and stripes on the fabric and the distressed edges. Love the color combo a lot. So I wanted to make my own pattern papers for my card.
Here is my take on the picture for you.

I have used Papertrey Ink Polka Dot background basic and Distressed Stripe background basic stamps on grey, white and yellow cardstocks to make my pattern paper. Distressed the edges using edge distressor. diecuts are from Papertrey Ink and Sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink Love Lives Here stamp set. Lace is from an Etsy shop. Ribbon from my stash.

Love the soft colors and the distressed edges and the beautiful sentiment. Hope you like it too.
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great evening :)

PTI June Blog Hop

Hello everybody,

Welcome to PTI's June Blog Hop. This month PTI has an inspirational picture as the theme.
Here is the picture for you.

When I first looked at it, I loved the wall and the colors but I was stumped. How am I going to make a card using that gorgeous picture as inspiration. But then, Nicole had a gorgeous card using copics and a tutorial in this month's release countdown and I wanted to try it. So the rainbow colors on a white cardstock using copics!!!  Nichole's card is stunning but me? Mmmm don't know!
Determined, I set to do the same on a scrap piece of white cardstock. Initially I did not like it and so I left it on the table and left to take kids for their music class. When I came back, the copics had dried and blended very well. Loved it.Not bad :) I can use them Yay!  I used the layout of the picture to make my card set.
So what do you think? Love it? I do. Love the CAS style with lots of color. Here are pictures of the individual cards.

Thanks for stopping by! If you want to play, head to Nichole's Blog and link your post. Its an all day event. Or if you want some inspiration, check out all the blogs linked for the blog hop here.

Happy Hopping!

I have also added matching twine on the tags wherever possible. Hope you like it. I love the gorgeous glossy buttons on them. Another beautiful challenge from  Moxie Fab World blog. If you like to play Tuesday Trigger challenge, here is the link to the blog.

Second take on Embellish Challenge.

Evening everybody,

I have a second take on the Embellish Background Stamping challenge.
Here is the photo for you.

Why I did a second take on the challenge? Its  because of Ashley Cannon Newell's Watch me Wednesday last week's video. Here is the link to her card and the video. I love Ashley card especially background stamping and the colors Ashley has used on her card. So I set out to make a similar background for my card but using the colors on the challenge So here is my version.

I had an envelope already which I have used on my card. I used Papertrey Ink Postmarks stamp on the envelope as a background as well.. Here is a closeup for you.

Stamps from Papertrey Ink- Text background stamp, 2010 Anniversary stamp, Just the ticket and Postmarks stamp sets. Cardstock and Ink again from papertrey Ink. The envelope from K&Co, Twine from Twinery, flowers from Prima Marketing, Rose flower and Key from Kaisercraft and Lace from my stash.
The envelope is detachable and can be opened to put money. I love pocket cards. You can put in some nice surprise inside. I love this card because how all came together beautifully. Hope you like the card too.
Thanks for the challenge and thanks for stopping by!

For the love of bicycles

I have recently fallen for bicycles. Especially the old antique bicycles with the baskets. Its just chic, I think!I used to ride to school in my bicycle until my 12th grade. I don't have that bicycle but I have a mountain bike now. I ride during spring and summer. Love to ride.
I once owned  a purple bicycle with a green basket 8 years ago in India. I left it with my in-laws when I moved to Australia. I love that bike. It was so pretty and chic.
I love them so much that I made a board for bicycles on Pinterest. Here is a link if you are interested - BICYCLE INSPIRATION

Here is a Bicycle card, I made today :)

Kaisercraft this month released a collection called Pink Gelato which has  beautiful bicycles on them. Of course, I wanted them and bought the Paper Pad and Chipboard. Here is another picture of the card.

Sentiment and cardstock from Papertrey Ink and pattern papers from Kaisercraft as well. I now hope that Papertrey Ink or any other company release a nice bicycle stamp set. Don't you think so? Its a must have to me and a great set to add to my stamp collection :)

Thanks for stopping by!  And if you know of any Bicycle stamp set, please don't forget to add a link on the comments. Thanks in advance.

Embellish Background Stamping Color Challenge

Hi everybody,

I am do glad to say that I am so much better after that horrible flu last week. I still have the cough and fatigue but a lot of other symptoms have gone. I have to say again, I hate to fall sick. Anyway, I have a set of tags today I made for the Embellish Background Stamping Color challenge.

Instead of a card, I made a set of 4 tags. I need them for some giveaways in the next weeks.

I diecut the tags from Basic Gray Kraft Pattern Paper and stamped Papertrey Ink's News Print on the background. Diecut using PTI's  Large than Life and Delightful Dahlia die. Stamped the smaller flower from Delightful Dahlia and layered them. The senitment is also from Papertrey Ink.
Here are more picutres of the tags.

Well, Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day :)

Updating on the flu

Just updating on my flu. Still pretty much down with flu and sinusitis.  Hate evenings when cough flares up and difficulty sleeping. I have all the symptoms you can imagine with flu. On medication every 4 hours and hoping the worse is over. Rest is what is needed at the moment and maybe in a few more days I should be back to normal.

For the good news, I won the random Tuesday Trigger Challenge last week. for the blue and white card below. Click here to see on Moxie Fab World blog :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hoping to see you soon :)

FTL #143

Another card share. This time its for Fall to Layout #143. Here is the sketch.

Here is my take on the sketch.
I have used Bo Bunny Timepiece collection papers and 3D stickers for this card. And sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Daily Design Stamp set. Here is another photo as I find the previous one a bit too dark!
Still getting over the flu. Wet and cold weather is making things feel worse. Just hate being sick. Not just the pain, the fever, the cold, the sore throat and the fatigue part of the sickness but not able to do my everyday chores is what bothers me a lot. I am generally an organised and active person. To be lagging behind in everyday chores is killing me. Flu shot has helped because my flu is not very bad. So another couple of days and I should be back to normal. Can't wait.

Hope you all had a great weekend. Today is still a holiday for me. Loving the extra day off. Good to rest. Anyway, you all have a great week!

Blue and White

A quick post today as I am down with flu. I had made this card on Friday but just got some time to do the post. I made this card for this week's Tuesday Trigger. Here is the inspirational picture

I was inspired by the texture on the bedspread, the european pillows and the beautiful blue and white wall paper. So bright and  fresh.
So I made three layers on my card. The dry embossing for the textured bedspread, the white flowers on blue for the european pillow and the middle layer of blue flower on white for the wall paper. Love the fresh look of the card.
If you like to play, click her to take you to the Tuesday Trigger Challenge. Thanks for stopping by! I cannot sit for long because of the bodyache.I hope I get better soon.
Have a great weekend!
Luv!
